Conveyor and process belts normally have open edges. Closing these edges with a thermoplastic strip avoids moisture, dirt, and/or bacteria from entering into the belt. With edge sealing, a conveyor belt is protected against the lateral ingress of contaminants, and the associated risks of contamination. It also prevents the fabric from fraying at the edges.
There are multiple ways of sealing the edges of a conveyor belt, each offering its own benefits. By using specialized machinery, YONGLI can even seal edges of very thin, knife edge suitable belts, starting from 0.7 mm thickness.
